Psychological Assessment for Immigration in Boston, MA

You left your country in search of safety, stability, or new opportunities.

But along the way, difficult experiences may have left deep emotional, psychological, and even physical scars. In many immigration processes, it's not enough to simply tell your story; you need to document the impact it had on you.

That's exactly what psychological assessment does.

Clinical reports that strengthen your process, with technical rigor, cultural sensitivity, and legal strategy.

I offer detailed expert assessments that strengthen processes such as VAWA, Asylum, T-Visa, U-Visa, I-601/I-601A (Extreme Hardship), and SIJS. We work closely with attorneys to ensure that every clinical detail supports the legal argument of your case.

Structure of Our Assessments

Regardless of the format chosen, both assessments are evidence-based, include clinical interviews, standardized psychological tests, and direct coordination with your legal team. There is no right or wrong choice; there is the choice that best suits your current situation and the needs of your case.

1. Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation (In-Depth)

The comprehensive evaluation is recommended for cases that require depth. Throughout a more detailed process—with interviews typically ranging from 2 to 4 hours (or longer, as needed)—the lived experience is no longer just a sequence of events, but becomes organized in a way that carries both emotional and clinical meaning. The client is able to structure experiences that are often fragmented, while this narrative is transformed into a robust document (generally between 25 and 40 pages) that clearly articulates symptoms, functioning, and life history with technical precision. The evaluation establishes a consistent causal nexus, integrates validated clinical instruments, and guides the reader through the most relevant aspects of the case.

Additionally, the document includes a strategic summary at the beginning, highlighting the key findings of the evaluation—allowing the reader to quickly identify the most critical points before engaging with the full analysis. This structure facilitates readability and ensures that the strongest aspects of the case are not lost within the document.

2. Direct and Strategic Psychological Evaluation (Focused)

The Direct and Strategic Evaluation maintains the same clinical foundation while offering a more focused format. A detailed pre-evaluation questionnaire organizes relevant information in advance, allowing the interview, which generally lasts between one hour and one hour and thirty minutes, to concentrate on the central aspects of the case. This makes the process more efficient and intentional while resulting in a concise report of approximately 10 to 15 pages.

The report clearly presents the client’s symptoms, psychological impact, and current functioning. It is designed to be objective and accessible in its presentation, clinically relevant in its content, and aligned with the information that must be understood within the context of the legal proceedings.

Both type of psychological evaluation strengthen your case and the ethical and clinical rigor is the same.
