Psychological Assessment for Accidents and Traumatic Events in Boston, MA
You were in an accident , but you haven't felt the same since. Palpitations and chest tightness have become part of your routine, even when everything around you seems normal.
In everyday life, your sense of security is no longer the same , your body reacts in ways you can't control, and explaining what you're feeling isn't always easy.
Regardless of whether the marks are visible or not, you know that something has changed in a more profound way than others can see.

Clinical documentation of emotional impact for legal proceedings, insurance claims, and recovery
Some events change life in ways we never expect.
An accident, a fire, a significant material loss, or any traumatic event can generate impacts that go far beyond what is visible — affecting emotional safety, the sense of control, and the way a person experiences daily life.
Even when there are no serious physical injuries, the psychological impact can be profound.
A psychological evaluation identifies, understands, and documents these effects — translating the experience into a structured clinical report that can be used in legal, insurance, or clinical contexts.
Specialized in forensic psychology in Massachusetts, I offer rigorous technical support for Personal Injury cases. My evaluations are designed to establish the causal link between the traumatic event and the resulting mental health impairment, providing robust reports that serve as foundational evidence for attorneys and courts to accurately quantify the extent of psychological damage.
Our Assessment Methods
We understand that each legal case has different needs. Therefore, we offer two report formats, both including clinical interviews, standardized psychological tests, and coordination with the legal team.
1. Extensive (In-Depth) Psychological Assessment
Extensive assessment in accident cases allows for an in-depth exploration of emotional, psychological, and functional changes following the event. Through interviews that generally range from 2 to 4 hours (or more, as needed), symptoms such as anxiety, fear, persistent pain, changes in sleep or autonomy are understood within a structured clinical context. These experiences are organized and analyzed in a detailed document (generally between 25 and 40 pages), which establishes the relationship between the accident and current symptoms, describes the impact on daily functioning, and translates, in a technical and consistent manner, how life has been affected.
The document also includes an initial strategic summary, highlighting the main impacts identified. This summary guides the reader from the beginning, allowing the most relevant points to be quickly understood before the full analysis.
2. Direct and Strategic (Objective) Assessment
The direct and strategic assessment in accident cases is conducted in a focused manner, starting with a preliminary questionnaire that organizes essential information before the interview. This allows for a more targeted meeting (between 1 and 1.5 hours), concentrated on the main emotional and functional impacts. The result is a more concise document (approximately 10 to 15 pages) that correlates the event to current symptoms, describes changes in functioning, and presents, clearly and technically, the effects of the accident on the individual's life. It is an assessment designed to be objective, consistent, and directly applicable to the context of the case.
Clinical Approach
The assessment considers not only the symptoms, but the entire experience of the event.
The focus includes:
-
How did the event affect your sense of security?
-
Changes in your routine and how you function
-
Emotional impact of material losses
-
Trauma processing and event memory
The goal is to translate your experience into a clear, valid, and relevant clinical document for your case.
